1. Getting started
Open the web app in your browser and start your free trial or sign in, or install the Windows app. There are three tabs at the top: Sign (place stamps on a PDF), Seal & signatures (set them up once) and Register (what you signed, and Verify). Start with Seal & signatures.
2. Your seal, signature and details
Signatory details
Enter your name, designation, company and place, and choose the date format and time zone (India, IST, by default). They are used in the text items, the signature block and the certificate page.
Company seal
- Upload scan: stamp the seal on plain white paper, scan or photograph it in good light, and upload the image. The paper background is removed automatically; move the Background removal slider if faint parts disappear or the paper still shows, and pick an ink colour if you want it cleaner.
- Create round seal: type the text for the top and bottom of the ring and the centre (use
| for a second line, e.g. Authorised | Signatory).
Signature and initials
Draw with the mouse, pen or finger, Type your name in a handwriting style, or Upload a scan of your signature on white paper. The Other stamp slot can hold a second signatory or a stamp such as "Received".
3. Signing a PDF
- On the Sign tab, click Open a PDF (or drop the file). Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
- Click a page to make it current (gold outline), then click an item under Add to the page: seal, signature, initials, or text such as name, designation, date, "For company" and place.
- Drag items into place; drag the gold dot to resize. With an item selected you can change rotation and opacity, edit text, Copy to all pages, Duplicate or Delete. Arrow keys nudge it (Shift = 10×).
- Or use a Quick layout: a sign-and-seal block on the last page, initials on every page, the seal on every page, or a half-seal across the right edge of every page.
4. Saving: ID line, certificate page, lock as images
- Print the document ID on every page: a small grey line with the ID and date, which you can look up later.
- Add a signing certificate page: a last page with who signed, when, the document ID and the SHA-256 fingerprint of the original file.
- Lock pages as images: the stamps can no longer be lifted out of the PDF; the text is no longer selectable and the file is larger.
Then click Download signed PDF (web app) or Save signed PDF (Windows app). The original file is never changed.
5. Signing with your DSC
- Install your token's driver and plug the token in. Check that the certificate appears in Windows: press Win+R, type
certmgr.msc, open Personal → Certificates.
- Web app only: start Prygenix Sign Helper (tray icon). Allow local network access if your browser asks.
- Tick Also sign with my DSC (USB token), choose the certificate, optionally enter a reason, and keep Trusted timestamp on to prove the signing time (needs internet).
- Save the PDF. Confirm in the helper (web app), then enter the token PIN when the token asks.
Open the signed file in Adobe Acrobat Reader and look at the Signatures panel: it shows your certificate, the time, and a warning if anyone changes the file later. The seal and handwritten signature you placed stay visible as before.
5a. Sending a document to other people to sign
In the web app (and on Prygenix's own page) you can send a PDF to other people, who sign it in their browser without an account.
- Open the PDF and place your own seal or signature if you want to (they are kept).
- Under Finish, click Send to others to sign… and sign in with your e-mail if asked.
- Add each signer's name and e-mail. Tick Sign in this order if each one should receive it only after the previous one has signed.
- Choose a signer under Place fields for and click Signature, Initials, Company seal, Date signed, Name or Text box. Drag the coloured boxes into place; drag the gold dot to resize.
- Give it a title and an optional message, choose how long the signers have, and how long to keep the document on Prygenix servers (a number of days after everyone has signed, or until a date you choose). Click Send.
Each signer gets an e-mail, confirms a 6-digit code, reviews the document, adopts a signature (draw or type), adds their company seal if you placed a seal box (upload a scan or photo, or create a round seal), and clicks Finish signing, or Decline with a reason. When everyone has signed, all signatures are added, a certificate page records who signed, when (IST), from which IP address and browser, and everyone receives the signed PDF by e-mail.
Follow your documents under Register → Sent for signing: see where each signer is, Remind them, Cancel, download the original or the signed PDF, or Delete files now. Fair use: 25 documents a month per licence (5 during the free trial).
If your company uses Autodesk Forma (Autodesk Docs / Autodesk Construction Cloud), you can sign documents without downloading and uploading them by hand.
- Click Open from Autodesk Forma (under 1 · Document). The first time, click Connect Autodesk account and sign in on Autodesk's own page in the window that opens.
- Choose the hub, project and folder, then click the PDF. It opens in the editor.
- Place your seal and signature as usual, then click Save to Autodesk Forma… (under Finish): Save as a new version of the same file, or open another folder (for example "Signed") and click Save in this folder.
Your company's ACC account admin may first need to add Prygenix Sign under Account Admin → Custom Integrations. Prygenix Sign only opens and saves the files you choose, with your own Autodesk permissions. Disconnect in the same window removes the connection.
6. Trial, licence and My account
- Every feature is free for 14 days. The Licence button at the top right shows the days left.
- Web app: on the welcome screen click Start 14-day free trial, enter your e-mail address and the 6-digit code we send you. The signing screen opens with the trial active. After you buy, choose Sign in with the e-mail address you bought with; your licence activates automatically.
- Windows app: the trial starts the first time you open it, without an account.
- My account shows your licences, when they expire and which device each is active on. Release from this device frees a licence so you can use it elsewhere (for example after replacing a computer).
- You can also paste the key from your order e-mail in Licence and click Activate (internet needed once); this is how the Windows app is activated. One key works on one device at a time: one Windows app or one browser.
- To move it, click Licence → Deactivate where it is active now (uninstalling the Windows app also does this), then activate it on the new device.
- Licences run for a year (₹999 per computer + GST). When it ends you can still open the app, see your register and verify documents; saving new signed PDFs needs a renewal.
6a. Company plan: seats, shared seal, one sent list
With a company plan, Prygenix gives your company a number of seats and makes one person the company admin.
- The admin signs in at My account with the e-mail address on the order. The Company section shows the seats in use.
- Under Give a seat to, enter a colleague's e-mail address and click Invite. They get an e-mail, open the web app, click Sign in with that address, and their seat activates by itself.
- In the web app, the admin sets up the company seal under Seal & signatures and clicks Share with my company. Everyone with a seat gets it the next time they open Prygenix Sign (and can switch back to it with Use the company seal).
- The company name and place set in My account are filled in for new members and shown to the people you send documents to.
- When someone leaves, click Remove next to their name: their seat is free again for someone else.
Documents sent for signing count against one company limit (25 a month per seat). The admin sees all of them under Register → Sent for signing, with who sent each one, and can remind, cancel or download them.
7. Backup and moving computers
Your seal, signatures, details and register are stored on your device: in the web app, inside this browser; in the Windows app, encrypted for your Windows account. Use Seal & signatures → Export backup to save them to a file, and Import backup on the new device or browser. In the web app, clearing the browser's site data deletes them, so export a backup regularly. The backup file is not encrypted: keep it somewhere safe.
8. Register and Verify
Every signed PDF you save is listed on the Register tab with its ID, signer and fingerprint (export it as CSV). When someone sends a PDF back, drop it on Verify: it tells you whether it is exactly the file you signed, the unsigned original, or a changed copy.
9. Troubleshooting
- "This PDF is password-protected": open it in a PDF reader with the password and save an unprotected copy, then sign that.
- Helper not found (web app): check the P icon is in the tray, press Refresh, and allow local network access when the browser asks. Safari cannot reach the helper; use Chrome, Edge or Firefox for DSC.
- No signing certificate found: the token driver is missing or the token is not plugged in. Check
certmgr.msc, wait a few seconds after plugging in, then Refresh.
- The token did not sign: wrong PIN, PIN cancelled, or the token was removed. Try again; tokens lock after several wrong PINs.
- Timestamp server could not be reached: check the internet connection, or untick Trusted timestamp.
- Windows app: "WebView2 Runtime is missing": install it from Microsoft (the app offers the link), then start Prygenix Sign again.
- "Windows protected your PC": click More info, check the name, then Run anyway. It appears for new downloads Windows hasn't seen often.
